DEFINITION OF SENSITIVITY:

"PROPERTY (OF A LIVING BEING, OF AN ORGAN) TO REACT ADEQUATELY TO CHANGES IN THE ENVIRONMENT "

Le Petit Robert

"2021. The situation is definitely extremely serious and urgent.

Climate crisis, wars, famines,  extinction of more than 200 animal species per day, fundamental social and indigenous struggles, catastrophic increase in temperature linked to carbon in the air, critical increase in the number of particles in the air,  increase in floods, forest fires, cyclones and hurricanes, rising sea levels, droughts, melting glaciers and freshwater reserves, release of methane, death of bees necessary for the pollination of all fruits, death fish and ocean acidification,  shaving of forests that produce oxygen, global pandemic,  southern slavery by  the overconsumption of the North, inaction  governments. Even in Canada ".

INTEGRATING EDUCATION WITH CLIMATE CHANGE
IS NECESSARY

Mother Nature says and vice versa.

"(...) Any transformative climate action must be focused on social justice for all by prioritizing basic human needs and reducing inequalities. One of the preconditions for this action is the integration of climate change education in basic school curricula globally. Overall, this would raise awareness of the climate emergency while empowering learners to take action (...) ".

2019: STATE OF CLIMATE EMERGENCY DECLARATION BY 11,000 SCIENTISTS

“In 2019, Ripple and colleagues (2020) warned of untold suffering and declared a climate emergency with more than 11,000 signatory scientists from 153 countries. They presented graphs of planetary vital signs indicating very disturbing trends, as well as the little progress humanity has made in tackling climate change. Based on this data and on scientists' moral obligation to "clearly warn humanity of any catastrophic threat," they called for transformative change. Since the publication of the article, more than 2,800 additional scientists have signed this declaration of climate emergency (see Supplementary File S1 for the current list of signatories); in addition, 1,990 jurisdictions in 34 countries have now officially declared or recognized a climate emergency (figure 1p) ". (...)

"But, at the same time, there has been an unprecedented increase in climate-related disasters since 2019, including devastating flooding in South America and Southeast Asia, heat waves and forest fires that have affected South America and Southeast Asia. broken records in Australia and the western United States, an extraordinary season of hurricanes in the Atlantic and devastating cyclones in Africa, South Asia and the West Pacific (...) ".

"Conclusion: Based on recent trends in planetary vital signs, we reaffirm the declaration of climate emergency and call again for transformative change, which is needed more than ever to protect life on Earth and stay in the greatest number of planetary limits. The speed of change is critical, and new climate policies must be part of the COVID-19 recovery plans. We must now unite as a global community with a common sense of urgency, cooperation and equity ".

WHAT ABOUT CHILDREN?

They are our leaders, our thinkers, our engineers, our doctors,

our educators, our poets, our governments  of tomorrow...

From this world, in a catastrophic state, which we bequeath to them.

Pollution environnementale

WE HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PROVIDING THEM WITH AN EDUCATION THAT TAKES INTO ACCOUNT ALL THESE ISSUES AND WHICH PREPARES THEM BEST POSSIBLE FOR TOMORROW!

THIS IS THE MISSING LINK!

"SENSITIVITY IS FUNDAMENTAL TO ADDRESS  CURRENT CHALLENGES  AND FOR THIS FACT, IT MUST BE THE HEART OF EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN WHO WILL TOMORROW TO INNOVATE TO FIND LASTING SOLUTIONS TO THE CRISES WE HAVE TRIGGERED.

SENSITIVITY IS NEEDED TO  THE RECONCILIATION BETWEEN HUMAN, NATURE AND THE OTHER INHABITANTS OF THE EARTH.

SENSITIVITY IS THE MOTHER OF ADAPTATION, AWARENESS, REFLECTION, QUESTIONING,  CREATIVITY, IMAGINATION, EMPATHY, COMPASSION, CARING, RECONCILIATION  AND EVEN OF HUMAN NEUROLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT.

SENSITIVITY IS ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTIONING OF VARIOUS ECOSYSTEMS  OF WHICH WE ARE PART ".
